I'd like to talk to you today about wildlife. No, not the late night parties (although those can get pretty wild at times). I'm talking about the animals that run around and sometimes interact with us humans in interesting ways. Our convention center for the past twenty-seven years have been in a California state park, with rangers and woods and a beach and yes, wild animals. Fortunately, they usually know enough to stay out of the way of those silly humans. We often spot deer roaming the grounds, especially early in the morning. I remember seeing six deer on my way to breakfast one year. One evening, we also saw a raccoon's butt sticking out of a garbage can.
Wouldn't you know, the next year the garbage cans all had these newfangled latches on them that raccoons can't open...at least not yet...
