Is it getting that close to the convention? My, this countdown has flown by. We've still got a few more things to do, but we're getting there. I'll probably start looking forward to this year's convention any day now. But today is one more remembrance, and this was a weird one! In the past, I've had bouts of scleritis, which makes my eye all red and sore and a little puffy. In the past, I've had to use two different prescription eyedrops to cure it. So one morning, just as we were heading out the door for the convention (we were driving that year), I realized my eye was sore, and took a look in the mirror. Sure enough, the scleritis was back. We had no chance to see a doctor and get a prescription filled, so I just took a bottle of Aleve with me (which has been successful in the past in keeping it down), determined to take some whenever I needed it on the trip, then see the doctor as soon as I could once I got back. I was taking the Aleve pretty regularly at first, and it did a great job of keeping the scleritis at bay. During the convention itself, I ended up taking it less and less, and by the time we got home, I realized that I'd stopped taking it, because the scleritis had gone! Who would have known? Not only that, it hasn't even returned since then. So maybe I've discovered a previously unknown miracle cure.
