We wrap up our overview of the 2002 issue of Oziana with "Woot Meets Yoop" by J. L. Bell. "Hang on," you may ask, "I thought Woot the Wanderer already met Mrs. Yoop, in The Tin Woodman of Oz." He did. This was some time later, when he wandered through a canyon in the Quadling Country and met Mr. Yoop! Woot got along with him about as well as he did with his wife. But a little psychology, a little bluff and bluster, memories of the encounter with the giant's wife, and the help of a few friendly animals allow Woot to get through the passage relatively unscathed, and leaves Mr. Yoop none the wiser. This is an amusing little story, and Mr. Yoop certainly does not come out of it any better. Nor does he come out of his cave, thankfully.
