Oz in Jeopardy!

They didn't waste any time this season. In only the seventh episode of the new season, there was an Oz clue. Before I get into it, however, a little set-up. This past week was their Back to School Reunion week. For the past few years, Jeopardy! has kicked off the season with ten- to twelve-year-olds playing. They've been doing it long enough now that this year, in part to celebrate their twenty-fifth (!) season, they invited some of the earliest Back to School contestants back to catch up, see how they're doing, and let them play again. Most are now in their final years of college, and it was fun to contrast their look, style, and ambitions then with what they are now. So on Tuesday's game, in the first round, Yoni (now a Ph.D. student at Columbia) chose the $600 clue in Literary Hodgepodge, and got the Daily Double. So he could bet any of his $2200 on the clue, and he bet it all. Here it is:

He correctly responded with, "What is Wicked?" and doubled his score. It helped him a lot going into the commercial break, but he eventually finished a distant second.
