And oh, what a fun one this is! "A Visit to Monster Island" by Nathan M. DeHoff is exactly that, and a fun little Ozzy treat for Halloween. The Crescent Moon, with a motley crew not seen in any previous expedition, discovers a new island with some familiar-looking inhabitants. This being a Halloween story, of course Jack Pumpkinhead is involved, and in a significant way. There are all kinds of things in this one that you really need to know your Thompson books to appreciate, especially Pirates in Oz and Captain Salt in Oz, but that's okay, isn't it? It's not particularly deep, but fans of the books will have fun with it.
