Oz in Jeopardy!

There were an awful lot of Oz (or at least quasi-Oz-related) clues on Jeopardy! in May and June, as you've probably gathered from reading the past few days of blogging here. But there was only one in July — and here it is, from the July 15 show, for $1600 in the category Books' Beginnings in the Double Jeopardy! round:

Returning champion Mark rang in first, and responded, "What is New Jersey?"

Ha! No, of course he didn't! He correctly responded, "What is Kansas?" He then went on to win the game.

And that, at long last, brings us to the end of the 2012-13 season of Jeopardy!, the twenty-ninth since the show was revived way back in 1984. Which means, in a few days, when the new season starts, the thirtieth season will begin. Wow! And you know that if there are any Oz clues that pop up, I'll be blogging about them here as soon as I can. But for now, enjoy the break.

My thanks to The J! Archive website for putting all these games up on the web for review and whatever other purposes people use the site for. Keep up the good work, everybody!
