I have been remiss in keeping everyone caught up on what's been happening, Ozwise, on Jeopardy! But that changes now!
First off, way back on the show for November 27, 2012, the very first category to pop up in the first round was:
However, it wasn't very Ozzy, as it was all about real life lions, tigers, and bears. But they had so much fun with it, they decided to have this category as the first one in the Double Jeopardy! round:
Hmm, this looks familiar. However, again, it wasn't actually very Ozzy, as it was about men who had played professional sports in Detroit (the Lions and Tigers) and Chicago (Da Bears).
A few days later, however, on
December 3, 2012, this clue popped up, for $1200 in the category Bubble Up in Double Jeopardy!:
The first thought that went through my head when I saw this was, "Please don't say 'Glenda,' please don't say 'Glenda'..." Jason, the defending champion, rang in first and got around the potential pitfall by saying, "Who is the witch of the North?" The judges accepted that, and Alex added, "Yes, the Good Witch of the North, Glinda." For once, the person getting the Oz clue correct also went on to win the game!
