Oz in Jeopardy!

Ha! I bet you thought Jeopardy! was over for the season, and there were no more Oz clues! Well you're sort of right! It is over for the season, and it starts up again next month some time. But there was one last Oz clue in the penultimate game of the season, during the annual Kids Week, where the contestants are ten to twelve years old. And it was in Final Jeopardy! no less. Of course, when Alex revealed the category:

I thought, "Hmm, maybe," but there are enough other series books that I didn't think much about it. But once the clue was revealed:
...well, let's just say I knew I'd be writing this blog post before too long. First to reveal her answer was Katie, from Plano, Texas, who responded with:
In case you can't make it out, she was trying to write "Who is Aslum?" which is wrong not only in that his name is Aslan and he talked throughout the entire Chronicles of Narnia, but also in that there are only seven books in that series. She had $3500 and bet it all, so she ended up in third place with zero dollars. Next up was Larkin, from Fleming Island, Florida. Her response was:
Since she couldn't come up with an answer, she also lost her bet, and went from $8800 to $3800. She finished in second. Finally, Alex, from Indianapolis, showed that he had written down:
Alex Trebek then told them the correct response was, "Who is Toto?" (He didn't reveal that the series was the Oz books, however. And since The Movie isn't the Big Event it used to be, and there are kids these days who actually have never seen it, that might have actually been a good idea!) Alex (the contestant, not the host) also lost his wager, but as he'd gone into Final Jeopardy! with $28,900, his score went down to "only" $17,600, and he won the game.

For once I feel smarter than a fifth grader. Or whatever grade those kids are in.
