It has been a long, long time since I remember seeing an Oz reference in Heart of the City. And that's too bad, as it was that strip that really got me going on collecting Oz references in comic strips, what with Heart playing the Wicked Witch of the West in the local production, and Mark Tatulli's wonderful homage to W. W. Denslow in one of his early Sunday strips. But in today's strip, that all changes. Yeah, simple and cliché, but it's a great piece of art!
