The comics order came this week! Which means Oz comics! And lots of exclamation points! So let's dive right in!
- Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz #2. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you probably know of my love for anything Eric and Skottie do. So yes, they do a great job again. This issue covers the Wizard's arrival in the land of the Mangaboos to the Wizard catching a fish for Eureka. And yes, the nine tiny piglets make their debut (but I've got to wonder about the nine identical little red top hats).
- Fables #110. The search for the new North Wind continues, and Mrs. Sprat continues her training. There, now that those non-Oz storylines are out of the way, let's get to the real action! It seems the Nome King's grip on Oz is slipping. Not only has the little band of rebels picked up some new allies (notably Mr. Yoop, who doesn't seem to quite have the appetite for eating all the prisoners he's being asked to eat), but the Nomes and the Kalidahs are also expressing their reservations about what's happening. But Blufkin has a more immediate problem to deal with, as someone who's been out to get him succeeds, and kidnaps him.
I've got at least one more Oz comic in the current order, and it looks like a really good one...but it will have to wait a bit before I can tell you more.
