Oz in London

I'm sure you all know by now that a new stage version of The Wizard of Oz, based on The Movie, is playing in the West End in London. And that the producer is Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber himself. But did you know that he and Tim Rice have gotten together for the first time in a couple of decades to write some new songs? Yeah, yea, I know, it's a crummy idea, because everyone knows and loves the ones from The Movie so much. But think about this: How many songs are there in The Movie after "If I Were King of the Forest"? The answer is none. And how many songs do the Wicked Witch and the Wizard get to sing? The answer to that one is none, too. So to structure things a little better for a big stage spectacular, more songs were needed. And here, by a wild coincidence, is one of them. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Hannah Waddingham as the Wicked Witch of the West, singing "Red Shoe Blues":

Not a bad little tune and that actress is really channelling Billy Burke, right down to the chin.

Do you mean Margaret Hamilton? (Billie Burke played Glinda the Good Witch, and didn't have quite so prominent of a chin.) And I caught your note on Facebook about the other post. The Foglios' name has been corrected.
