Oz in Jeopardy!

And they just keep coming! Not only was there another Oz clue in last Thursday's episode, but for the second Oz clue in a row, it was a Daily Double. So, here's the set-up: It's the Double Jeopardy! round, and our four-day returning champion Mark chooses Novel Quotes (in which they give you the quote, you name the novel it's from) for $1600, and gets the DD. Mark was a steamroller in his first four games, but he's been struggling here and is way behind challenger Brian, with $12,000 (Brian has over $24,000 at this point). So Mark can't catch up, but he can come close with a big bet. He wagers $9000. (I told Laura that if I were in his shoes, I would have bet $10,000.) Then Mark got this clue:

It quickly became clear that Mark had no idea what the correct response was, but he hemmed and hawed and finally said, "What is The Green Mile?" Alex told him that the correct response was Wicked, of course, and Mark's score went down to $3000. As it was late in the game by this point, it was pretty clear that he wouldn't win this game. Sure enough, he ended with nothing, and Brian went on to win in a runaway.

The schedule for the rest of the season has now been set, and it looks like there's only one more week of new episodes before the summer break. It's not likely that there will be an Oz clue in there, but you never know!
