Oz in Jeopardy!

Wow, they've been busy down there in Culver City! It's been pretty quiet on the Oz front at Jeopardy! for the last couple of months, but in the last four shows, three of them have had Oz (or at least Oz-related) clues. So, here we go! First up, last Thursday (June 16, 2011), the Double Jeopardy! round featured the category That's Entertainment. And for $800, we found Sarah of the Clue Crew:

And as she gave the following clue:

"It's easy to see why Stage 15 here at Sony Studios, the largest soundstage in the Western hemisphere, was used to film hits like Men in Black I & II, the Spider-Man films, & this 1939 magical classic MGM musical."

...the camera panned out to show just how big the stage is, so by the end, it looked like this:

Nick, the defending champion (who did not go on to win the match), rang in first and correctly responded with, of course, "What is The Wizard of Oz?"

The next day (June 17, 2011), in the Jeopardy! round, the category was For the Home Team. For $800, the clue was:

Steve, the challenger at the middle lectern, rang in and correctly responded with, "What is Seattle?" So thanks for that plug for my local MLS team, everybody.

And finally, in yesterday's game (June 21, 2011), one category in Double Jeopardy! was Musical Theater. For $1200, the clue was:

Jay, the defending champion, rang in first and correctly responded with, "What is The Wiz?" Jay would go on to win the game, so at least one of these players has proven my long-proven-incorrect theory that if you get an Oz clue correct, you go on to win the game.
