The Cinnamon Bear

I've heard about it before, but this is the first year I've decided to seek out and listen to The Cinnamon Bear, a classic radio serial for kids. It was first broadcast in 1937, six days a week on the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and was a popular tradition for many years. I understand that it's still being played somewhere in the world every Christmas season. Fortunately, I found this site that has all twenty-six episodes. But the Ozzy part is at the top of the list of episodes. It's a promotional record for the show, which has some of the original background and other information about the show for radio stations. Among the many stories that the narrators compare The Cinnamon Bear to is the Oz books. This is just an indication of how well known the books were back in the day. Remember, this was two years before the famous MGM film version came out.
