I don't normally do this sort of thing, but this is an extraordinary book. If you're an Oz fan, or an L. Frank Baum fan, this is one book you really need to get. Sunday Press Books is reprinting all of Baum's "Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz" comic pages, in their original sizes (back when newspaper pages were a lot bigger!), with all of the original art, in color. There have been reprints of these stories before, and even reduced black and white reprints of the pages, but nothing like this. There have been many attempts to do this sort of book in the past, but Sunday Press has finally pulled it off. But it gets even better! Besides "Queer Visitors," this book also reproduces all of W. W. Denslow's "Scarecrow and the Tin-Man" comic pages, too, with the same treatment. There are also other examples of early Oz cartoons, and other cartoon works by Denslow, "Queer Visitors" illustrator Walt MacDougall, and even some of John R. Neill's cartoon work. Throw in all of the various essays and introductions and the like, and we are talking one good deal. No, this is not a cheap book, as it's huge and in color, but it should be worth the price. You can order it directly from Sunday Press Books here. You can also pick up a copy at the Winkie Convention this summer in Pacific Grove, California (July 10-12). If you come to the convention, you can meet me! (Rooms at Asilomar are sold out now, but there are alternative places to stay in Pacific Grove or Monterey.)
