Celebrating Oz
Overmountain Press is celebrating the 150th birthday of Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum by hosting birthday parties and launch events combined into one. The launch part of the events are for The Oz Odyssey (Apr.), the latest Oz book by Roger Baum, the great-grandson of L. Frank. Roger has previously published 11 Oz books with Overmountain, continuing the adventures of Dorothy, Toto and their friends.
Books of Wonder in New York City will host a birthday party for L. Frank Baum on May 18 from 5–7 p.m. Other plans include a party at BEA in Washington, D.C. (May 20), a Barnes & Noble appearance in Springfield, Mo. (June 14) and an appearance at OztoberFest 2006 in Wamego, Kans. (October 20-22).
