Stargate SG-1: Minor Oz Reference

If we listed every single Oz reference in popular media, we'd never had any time for anything else. But I ran across an amusing one today, so I'll mention it here.

It was on Stargate SG-1, an episode called "Tangent".

I don't watch the show, so I don't know the characters, but the set-up was that a spaceship was broken down and facing hostile aliens. One of the characters was told to stall the aliens, and so he used the communication equipment to talk with them in their own language. However, the aliens didn't seem impressed, and when another character arrived from fixing the ship he asked what the first guy had told the aliens. "I told them I was Oz, the great and powerful." They quickly escaped. I giggled.
