Oz: The Manga #6

I just finished Oz: The Manga #6. This one covers Dorothy's time with the Wicked Witch of the West, and has a few interesting deviations from the book — but nothing serious. In fact, the Witch's demise is almost word for word from the book. Somewhat surprisingly, we don't get the rescue of the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman, they just show up whole and intact at the gates of the Emerald City.

So, my guess for the finall two issues? Issue 7 will deal with the Wizard and how he gave Dorothy's three friends what they wanted, and will end either with him and Dorothy about to take off in the balloon, or the balloon taking off without Dorothy. Then issue 8 will include the trip to the Quadling Country and Dorothy going home.

And already advance solicited on Amazon.com is Oz: The Manga Pocket Manga Volume 1, which appears to be the collection of the whole series. That "Volume 1" is intriguing...
